We work with homeowners to customize, renovate, remodel or expand their residences. Your personal priorities are the guiding principles behind our designs. The constraints that come with residential architecture are unique. From site size and setback distances to residential codes and jurisdictions, we take the time to do things the right way. Childs Architecture is licensed to work on homes in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.
Emphasizing the existing elements that made this house unique while reimagining the common spaces, Childs Architecture added a welcoming entry, cozy sunroom, open and functional kitchen and private patio space to the home’s footprint. These additions helped to create the peaceful living space that was desired by our clients.
Red Berry Lane Addition
Childs Architecture designed an extensive addition to this preexisting home, including an expansive front portico, garage, recreation room, master suite and kitchen. The renovations open up the home and create inviting spaces for the family to relax and entertain.
Paris Mountain Renovations
This private home, situated on a mountainside lot, featured a traditional Southern Living floor plan that restricted views of the surrounding landscape. Childs Architecture worked with the homeowners to create an open, modern layout that takes advantage of the location’s stunning scenery and brightens the entire house.
Custom Sustainable House
This custom-built home was created by Childs Architecture to be in harmony with the surrounding landscape, while taking advantage of prevailing winds. Its unique features, including passive solar design, roof overhangs and skylights on the north side of the home make effective use of natural resources to create an environment that is both beautifully and sustainably designed.
Working side-by-side with the homeowner, Childs Architecture transformed a cramped, dual-compartment hall bathroom into an imaginative space with Asian-inspired design. The remodeled bathroom features a curved onyx countertop with complementary features throughout the room to create a unified design.
